Jianbin Qin
Professor JIANBIN QIN is a national young distinguished expert and a research scientist at the Shenzhen Institute of Computing Science. He graduated with a PhD from the University of New South Wales, Australia. He worked as a researcher at the University of Edinburgh database before returning to China. He has worked in the research and development departments of Baidu and Microsoft search engines and the knowledge graph department of Google. His main research direction is database theory, database system, similarity query, information retrieval, data management, etc. He was nominated for the best paper of ACM SIGMOD 2011 and was invited to draft ACM TODS, and was selected for the best piece of IEEE ICDE 2018 and draw IEEE TKDE. In addition, he has won the CISRO Best Paper Award and the DASFAA Best Student Paper Award. He put forward fundamental theories such as the general pigeon nest principle model (GPH) and pigeon ring principle (Pigeonring) for high-performance similarity query systems.
